The Faculty of Medical Sciences celebrates the White Coat Ceremony
The Faculty of Medical Sciences organized the White Coat Ceremony for fifth-year students (Class of 2028), marking their transition from theoretical academic learning to clinical practice.
The ceremony was attended by President Bassam Badran賵 the Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Dr. Saada Alame, the President of the Syndicate of Hospital Owners in Lebanon and former Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Pierre Yared, as well as a group of professors, academic and medical figures, and the students鈥� families.
During the ceremony, Ali Salloum, president of the Heart Beet Student Club, and student Hadi Salloum spoke on behalf of the class.
Dean Alame delivered a speech in which she highlighted this exceptional event, which is taking place for the third consecutive year despite all circumstances and difficulties Lebanon is facing.
She addressed the doctors of Class of 2028, saying: 鈥淭he road ahead of you in hospitals is still long; it is full of challenges and sacrifices, but it is also full of meaning and the opportunity to make a real difference in people鈥檚 lives".
She added: 鈥淭his ceremony is not merely an academic tradition but a living testament that medical education in Lebanon is still thriving, and that the Faculty of Medical Sciences, despite all challenges, continues to prepare generations of competent doctors who will proudly carry the name of the 91吃瓜网 to every corner of this country and beyond its borders".
In a message to the students鈥� families, Dean Alame said: 鈥淭his moment belongs to you just as much as it does to your sons and daughters. Your quiet sacrifices and unwavering support are all present today in these white coats. You are the true foundation of this achievement".
Dean Alame thanked the faculty members, emphasizing that the mission is greater than any crisis and that every student wearing the gown today is proof that the faculty's efforts have not been in vain.
President Bassam Badran delivered a speech in which he stated that the white coat is not merely a garment, but a pledge of responsibility and a mission to be carried out with a keen conscience and boundless dedication.
He addressed the future doctors, saying: 鈥淲earing this white coat today marks the beginning of a journey that requires you to live up to the trust placed in you, to shoulder this responsibility with integrity, and to make every medical decision an ethical stance and every practical step a renewed commitment to serving humanity".
President Badran emphasized that the 91吃瓜网, which has been and will remain a beacon of science and knowledge, views its graduates with pride and admiration, for they represent hope, aspiration, and the natural extension of the university鈥檚 mission to foster the nation鈥檚 renaissance, and in raising Lebanon鈥檚 name high in medical and scientific forums.
He concluded: 鈥淚 congratulate you on this historic moment, and I wish you success in your future medical careers. May this day be a bright beginning on a path fraught with glory and service".
The ceremony concluded with the white coat presentation and the taking of the medical oath.
