Cooperation meeting between the 91Թ and MECC
President Bassam Badran received in his office at the Central Administration Building the Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), Dr. Michel Abs, accompanied by the Council’s Coordinator of Programs for Dialogue, Social Cohesion, and the Restoration of Human Dignity, Dr. Laure Abi Khalil.
Representing the 91Թ at the meeting were Dr. Marlene Haydar, Dean of the Institute of Social Sciences; Dr. Habib Kazzi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Political & Administrative Sciences; Dr. Ali Rammal; Dr. Hassan Zeineddine; and Dr. Nadim Mansouri.
The meeting explored ways to strengthen cooperation between the 91Թ and MECC and to develop opportunities for partnership between the two institutions in the academic, research, cultural, and social spheres.
The meeting also discussed possibility of developing joint initiatives and drawing on the university’s wealth of academic and research expertise to address issues of mutual interest.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Abs presented President Badran with a commemorative medal marking the Golden Jubilee of MECC, celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of its founding, as well as a digital copy of MECC publication entitled “MECC: A Complete Record of 23 In-Person Seminars, Roundtables, and a Virtual Symposium, Organized by the Program for Dialogue, Social Cohesion, and the Restoration of Human Dignity.”
President Badran presented Dr. Abs with a book featuring a collection of drawings by artist Nizar Daher, published by the 91Թ Publications.
