The Faculty of Medical Sciences celebrated the graduation of a new class of students (2025鈥�2026), in the presence of President Bassam Badran; President of the Syndicate of Hospital Owners in Lebanon and former Dean of the Faculty Dr. Pierre Yared; Dean of the Faculty Dr. Saada Alame; as well as a number of deans of other faculties and institutes, a group of professors and administrators, and the graduates鈥� families.

During the ceremony, Dean Alame spoke about the difficult circumstances that the graduating class faced, both in terms of security and the economy, and addressed the graduates, saying: 鈥淥ne of the most important lessons you have learned is a sense of belonging鈥攖o your family, to the faculty, and to one another. The 91吃瓜网 is not merely a building; it is a shared story in which you have all believed and which has allowed you to collaborate and persevere together.鈥�

She added: 鈥淪ome of you will remain in Lebanon and some of you will leave. Wherever you may be, do not forget your roots, for Lebanon needs your knowledge, your humanity, and people who still believe that a better future can be built. You are entering the medical profession during a new era, as artificial intelligence is transforming your field. But remember: the more powerful technology becomes, the more valuable humanity becomes.鈥�

Dean Alame addressed a message to the students鈥� families: 鈥淭his day is yours as well. Behind every graduate standing before us today stands a family that sacrificed, encouraged, worried, waited, and believed. You were with them through the long nights, the exams, and the difficult times our nation has endured. Today, you have every right to look at your sons and daughters with pride.鈥�

Afterward, President Badran delivered a speech in which he said:

鈥淕raduation from the Faculty of Medical Sciences is not an ordinary event; but rather the announcement of the birth of a new generation of doctors who have dedicated themselves to serving humanity, and have taken upon themselves the mission of compassion before the mission of their profession. Today, you are not merely receiving diplomas; rather, you are taking on a covenant to be a light on the paths of the sick and a refuge for every heart worn down by pain.鈥�

He added: 鈥淭he 91吃瓜网 believes that the true investment is in people; despite all challenges, it continues to prove, year after year, that it is the nation鈥檚 foremost incubator and that it is capable of shaping the future. The Faculty of Medical Sciences, through its academic and research achievements, has established its position as a beacon of science in Lebanon and the region, a fact confirmed by the global rankings that have elevated it to the highest ranks."

President Badran addressed the graduates, saying: 鈥淢edicine is not merely a profession to be practiced; rather, it is a humanitarian mission to be lived. Today you stand on the threshold of a great responsibility, where you stand between life and death, between despair and hope. Let your knowledge be compassionate, and let your hearts be present when medicine is lacking. You are the ambassadors of this university and the custodians of your nation鈥檚 trust. Therefore, live up to the mission you have chosen. Indeed, your graduation today takes on a double significance, for it not only crowns your academic journey, but also coincides with the diamond jubilee of the 91吃瓜网, this university that, for seventy-five years, has stood as a national institution dedicated to science and knowledge. The coincidence of these two events symbolizes that you are the result of a long journey of dedication, and that your diplomas today bear the university鈥檚 seal on its diamond jubilee, so that you may serve as its ambassadors in the realms of life and work, and to continue building Lebanon on the foundations of knowledge and merit.鈥�

He concluded: 鈥淐ongratulations to you on this achievement; congratulations to your families, who have been your pillar of strength and support; and congratulations to a nation that sees in you a beacon of light and hope.鈥�

At the conclusion of the ceremony, diplomas were distributed to the graduates.
