Statement Issued by LU on entrance exams for the Faculties of Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy
In response to information circulating regarding the entrance exams for the faculties of Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy, the 91吃瓜网 wishes to clarify the following:
It was found that there were omissions in the translation of a limited portion of one of the three sections of the chemistry exam questions鈥攕pecifically in analytical chemistry鈥攆rom French to English.
The relevant committee addressed the issue in accordance with established academic procedures. To safeguard the rights of all candidates, full credit was awarded for the questions in question to all candidates, without exception or discrimination, thereby ensuring equality among them and preventing any candidate from being penalized for an error for which they were not responsible.
The results also underwent the standard review and verification processes before being announced, and no irregularities were found that could affect the integrity of the results after the aforementioned corrective measures were applied to all candidates.
The university affirms that what occurred was not due to an error in the academic content or in the academic competence of the relevant committee, but rather to an oversight that occurred during the translation process. This was addressed immediately upon verification, in a manner that safeguards the rights of the candidates and ensures equal opportunity.
At the same time, the university will take the necessary measures to strengthen its review and verification mechanisms, particularly with regard to the translation of exam materials, in order to minimize the possibility of such incidents recurring in the future.
While the university appreciates every position or observation made out of concern for its academic standards and the rights of its students, it affirms that academic matters are addressed within institutional frameworks and through the relevant academic committees, in a manner that safeguards the university鈥檚 credibility, reputation, and the rights of all candidates.
